Short version
If you give us your email, we use it to send you the Captain's Log + any resources you requested. We never sell your data. We never share it with advertisers. We log site events for our own analysis (newsletter signups, downloads, contact submissions). You can ask us to delete everything we have on you at any time by emailing max@max-ship.com.
What we collect
- Email addresses — when you sign up for the Captain's Log, request a lead-magnet, or submit the contact form.
- Site activity logs — when you submit a form, we log the timestamp, the event type, your country (from Cloudflare's CF-IPCountry header — we don't store IP addresses), the page you came from (referrer), and your browser user-agent. This is for our own analysis (which content is converting, which countries our audience comes from). It's not shared with any third party.
- Email engagement data — if you open or click links in our emails, our email provider (Resend) tells us which emails got opened and clicked. We use this to know which content is landing.
What we don't collect
- No third-party tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no LinkedIn Insight Tag — we run our own minimal logging via Cloudflare D1).
- No advertising networks or retargeting cookies.
- No IP addresses stored long-term (Cloudflare's edge sees your IP transiently to route requests; we don't persist it).
- No personal information beyond your email, anything you choose to put in the contact form, and the country your request comes from.
How to delete your data
Email max@max-ship.com with the subject "Delete my data" and the email address you used. We'll remove you from the Captain's Log audience and purge any logged events tied to your email within 7 days.
You can also unsubscribe from the Captain's Log directly using the unsubscribe link in any email — that removes you from the audience instantly.
Where the data lives
- Email addresses — Resend (our email provider). Resend's privacy policy applies for stored contact data.
- Site logs — Cloudflare D1 database, hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We're the only ones with access.
- Static site assets — Cloudflare Workers, served from Cloudflare's edge.
Cookies
We set one cookie: site-key, used to remember that you've unlocked a members-only page so you don't need to enter the password every page. It's a session-style cookie (lasts ~30 days) and contains nothing but the access token. No tracking cookies.
Children
The MaxShip site is for working adults (operators, founders, marketers) and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change what we collect or how we use it, we'll post a revised policy here and email Captain's Log subscribers. Last update date is at the top of this page.
