Start here. Welcome aboard, captain.

If you've been playing with Claude, dipping into Claude Code, maybe shipped a Vercel demo or a Lovable app, but you keep feeling like the tools should be doing more for you, this is the page that reframes what you're doing wrong and shows you the way out.

You're probably here because you're excited about what AI can do. You've tried Claude. You've poked at Cursor. You've dipped into Claude Code. Maybe you've stood up a Vercel demo or a Lovable prototype. There's a thing you want to ship, you have a sense the tools are capable, but the gap between "amazing demo" and "actually running a business" hasn't closed yet.

That gap isn't a tooling problem. It's an operating-model problem. And that's what MaxShip teaches.

What changes in the next 90 days

If you take the methodology seriously and run it for three months, here's what's different:

  • You're shipping daily. Not just consuming AI content. Producing real code, real pages, real product output that goes live.
  • You're an active GitHub user. Your work is versioned. Your AI works inside your repos.
  • You barely hit your Claude limits anymore. You're launching entire websites, refactoring full apps, all within a normal subscription, because you're not wasting context, you're feeding it well.
  • You feel tool-agnostic. You could cancel Claude tomorrow and switch to a different model. Your operating model isn't tied to the AI.
  • You're in control of your data. Your customers' data. Your destiny. Your digital sovereignty.
  • Your AI understands you. You stopped fighting context limits and started writing better Command.

Why now, why 2026

Two things broke open at once.

First, frontier AI models became genuinely good. Claude Opus 4.x can pair-program with you on a real codebase. Cheap models innovate on the small repeatable jobs. You can run a stack under $200 a month that competes with $50K-a-month enterprise teams. The tooling is here.

Second, infrastructure caught up. Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare D1. Resend. Astro. Open-source MCPs. The deployment surface is a credit card and a CLI command. You don't need a DevOps team. You don't need a Webflow subscription. You don't need to wait three months for an expert.

What this means: the power is shifting to those with opinions. Small teams that iterate beat big teams that deliberate. Captains with creative perspective beat orchestrators with budgets. The future is happening to us daily, and your success is much more likely if you can change a little bit every day to get a little bit better.

That's why now. The tools are ready. The captains aren't. MaxShip is for the captains.

The first thing to do

Stop reading. Do these four things, in order:

  1. Get the open-source Command Kit. Visit the product page, clone the repo, drop it in your home directory.
  2. Open it inside Claude Code. Or open it in Obsidian if you prefer reading. Either way, start referencing the folder when you talk to your AI. The combination of Obsidian plus Claude is genuinely overpowered.
  3. Run the personalization tool. The folder ships with a setup that asks you a few questions and re-sorts the structure for how you actually work, while preserving the parts that need to stay structured for the AI to use them well.
  4. Subscribe to the Captain's Log. One email a week direct from MaxShip. New methodology, new tools we tested, new captains' wins. No spam.

Then come back and read The Captain's Flywheel. That's the operating model the Command Kit runs on top of.

The journey map

MaxShip has four tiers. You move at your own pace.

  1. Free. Open-source products, playbooks, lessons, the Captain's Log newsletter. Use forever, never pay a dollar.
  2. Community plus Blueprints. The Skool community for live captain's calls and peer support, plus paid Implementation Blueprints (deep, code-level walkthroughs of how to customize Command, Compute, Cadence, and Customers for your business).
  3. Fractional CMO. From $6K a month. Embedded marketing leadership that deploys AI agents across your marketing performance, social content, lifecycle (email + SMS), and ops (martech stack, self-hosted databases and dashboards) — so your team ships marketing execution like a team 5x its size and budget.
  4. Bespoke Consultancy. Custom budget, custom scope. Contact Max directly.

Each tier is more involvement from me and the team. The free tier is genuinely free, not a demo. Most captains spend months at the free tier before moving up. That's by design.

What the reader needs to believe

This isn't for everyone. It's for people who can hold this idea in their head:

You can and should understand your business better than anyone else can. Including the AI.

Stop outsourcing your reasoning. Stop outsourcing your critical decision-making to tools that don't know you. Take advantage of the best AIs in the world, but stay in command. This isn't a course for someone who wants AI to run everything. This is a course for someone who wants to be challenged by AI, sharpened by AI, amplified by AI, while staying the captain of their own ship.

The reader needs to believe they're capable. That there's a future they can succeed in technologically, where they're in control of their data, their tools, their direction. They need to believe the scary AI future is something they can do something about, rather than just react to.

If that's you, you're in the right place.

What MaxShip is not

  • Not a "wait for AGI" program. What people like Sam Altman seem to be selling, wait for AGI to make all the decisions, is a trap. If you outsource your reasoning, you have zero defensible value. Zero moat. Generic AI life.
  • Not a course platform with badges. No certificates. The proof is what you ship.
  • Not an agency for hire to anyone. The Fractional CMO and Bespoke tiers are selective. Most captains never need them.
  • Not a guru program. I run real businesses. The frameworks come from the practice, not the other way around.
  • Not promising you'll be rich. It's promising you'll be in command, capable, and shipping. The rest is up to the work you do.

An anecdote, since you asked

The proof story I use most: HBOT Finder. We shipped 3,000+ SEO and AEO-optimized pages in a high-margin niche, with better landing and sales pages than anything else in the category, with research content nobody else had bothered to publish. None of it required me to write the pages. All of it required me to write a good Command.

This methodology made that possible. Not the AI alone. Not me alone. The flywheel between us, spinning every night.
